I forgot to count mullets yesterday at Farmers’ Day. I am dissapointed in myself, but it happens. I took the Pentax with the intention of getting lots of pictures since I realized I put in a roll that has 36 exposures. I got one of the parade, as the honor guard walked by. The interesting thing they had this year was the Stihl lumberjack competition. I got two pictures of a guy making a stool and then 3 of the log rolling. Some lame person moved into a shot on one of the log rolling pictures, so there is going to be a brown blur in the foreground. These pictures will suck because I didn’t get close to avoid the crowd. I got two pictures of the railroad track that goes on for miles in a straight line. Those should be cool.
In all, Farmers’ Day was a good time. Hung out with Erica’s cousins and got them excited for the America’s Cup race, which wasn’t on the television. That upset me and got me thinking that the race is over; I need to figure out who won.
Eat, Shoots & Leaves is a good book. Definitely talks more about British grammar and punctuation, but most of it can be applied to us in the US. I have now moved on to The Basic Book of Photography: The Classic Guide in hopes of learning some secrets to photography that Erica picked up in the class she took. I should read the Harry Potter series.
The garage door broke last night with a loud bang. We had no clue what happened, so we wandered around the inside and outside of the house looking for things out of place. Erica is smart, so she tries the garage door from the outside and sure enough, it goes up 8 inches. Need to figure out the spring tension for the current garage door, so I can replace them, or get a new garage door opener system. Home Depot allows one to get springs, whereas Lowe’s doesn’t.
Just when I thought I couldn’t get iTunes working again, I do a software update on the Mac and there are new downloads for QuickTime and iTunes. Maybe the program will work again!
I really enjoy the Soundscapes music channel; it is nice and soothing.
