Justin and I went hiking at Ledges State Park on Saturday. Good times were had and that is also where the title comes from. We left the park and walked over to the Des Moines River and trudged through the state hunting area which was partially flooded; we were trying to get back to the road and I decided that we should just go to the high ground about 25 feet away. That 25 foot area ended being 2 feet under water and out feet got soaked with cold, dirty, and stagnant water. We hiked most of the trails in the park that were near the creek that runs through it. I got a decent set of pictures, one was a panorama of 5 shots which I’m linking here because it’s pretty good.

I took two shots of the water flowing over the road, one at 1/30 and the other at 1/8 shutter speeds hoping to get the water to mesh into a white sheet but it didn’t work too well, but they still turned out ok. This picture was taken using the pano head set on a sand bar in the creek looking towards the water flow over the road and is the 1/30s shutter speed shot.

It sucked that it was cloudy all weekend because Justin’s house is in the middle of nowhere and that makes it a prime location for star trail pictures.
Now that I have finished the roll of film in the ME, I can now start using the ME Super exclusively. I’m excited. I’m also going to start using the 2x teleconverter less as I think it’s having an adverse effect on my shots. I only have one shot from my Sac & Fox, the only really crisp that used the teleconverter.
