Date Night and Photos Added!

February 23, 2008 xtacocorex Leave a comment

I added two of my shots from the last roll of film through the Pentax ME on the photography page on the blog. Along with that, I updated my equipment list to give detail on the lenses and add Erica’s lens that I’m going to start using; otherwise it’d just sit around in a bag not being used because the D80 has replaced her ME in the SLR department.

I need to take my second roll of film to Sam’s tomorrow for developing and scanning to CD. I’m excited for this roll, only 13 images, because I got some of Lilly and Bailey in there and the last couple images were taken with Erica’s lens.

Tonight Erica and I went on a date and saw Juno at the theatre down the road. We both really enjoyed that movie. Before that, we went to the New York Deli for dinner and split a Chicken Teriyaki sub. It wasn’t bad, but the chicken was ultra processed and I still have yet to eat my Sun Chips.

Tomorrow we’re heading to Photo Pro to look at camera bags and I’m going to look at the cheap wide angle lens for any Pentax K-mount camera. I was curious about it two day’s ago and didn’t ask about it. I also want to stop at Ace Hardware and pick up a level for the Pano Head since that is one component it is lacking.

Going to the movies…

January 14, 2008 xtacocorex Leave a comment

Erica and I had a movie night on Friday that was a lot of fun. We watched Spiderman 3 and I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry. Saturday night we watched Shrek the Third. All three were good movies and we had a lot of fun watching them together. Also watched was the second season of Arrested Development; well I saw the whole season and Erica jumped in late, so we have to borrow the first season from Christine because Erica likes the show now. Total suckage that it was cancelled; I’ve mentioned that before.

Evidently while I was at Lowe’s yesterday getting parts for the pano head, Lilly rolled over from her stomach to her back.

The pano head is going to be awesome. I got a decent part of it built and then ran to Lowe’s to get hardware to hold it together. I need to go back and return some stuff since the parts won’t work, but i’ll be getting around 5 bucks back to put towards the correct hardware. I also realized, with Erica’s help, that my Pentax may be too heavy for it since it’s all metal and built like a tank. I may need to put a cross beam on the camera attachment arm to keep it at the position I want it. (I could easily do a quick Static analysis, but don’t feel like scanning in a drawing of a force diagram) One thing I forgot to do is take pictures while building it so I haven’t documented the building process, but there will be pictures of it completed. I also need a better tripod, the one I have is pretty crappy with the attachment base that can go from landscape to portrait; the joint there flexes too much with the weight of the pano head and camera. That’s what I get for going cheap on that years ago.

Thunder Snow!?

December 23, 2007 xtacocorex Leave a comment

This is crazy stuff, it’s snowing and thunderstorming at the same time!  Who knew that could happen.  Erica says it’s happened once before in her almost 25 years of existence, but I’ve never experienced it.

The snowblower that we got from her dad through Mark didn’t start when I wanted to clear the driveway earlier tonight.  Guess I’m getting up early tomorrow to clear it off before it get’s driven on.  I did shovel it once before I left to return the movies (“Pirates of the Carribean: At World’s End” and “The Simpson’s Movie”) we rented.  The “Pirates of the Carribean” movie wasn’t all that great, there were some good parts, but with everyone backstabbing eachother every 5 seconds, it got old quick.  ”The Simpson’s Movie” was pretty good, I was worried that it’d be like a normal episode, but it was not.

It doesn’t feel like Christmas, but then again, it hasn’t felt like Christmas for the last couple of years.
